Aligarh Muslim University has conferred an honorary doctorate for Music Maestro A.R.Rehman for his contribution to the fields of Art and Music. Redman has received his doctorate yesterday at a function held at University. This year proved to be a highly successful period in A.R.Rehman’s career. He is the first Indian to win two Oscar Awards at a time for the film Slum dog millionaire. The honor he received glorifies his image as one of the best musician that India has ever delivered so far. Noted Urdu scholar Gobi Chand Narang was also honored with doctorate in the same occasion.
So far, former presidents of India Zakir Hussain, APJ. Abdul Kalam and freedom fighter Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan were honored with doctorates by the Aligarh Muslim University.
